if anyone is having trouble getting to here from AOL, well I'm on CIHosting, which AOL is blackbanning CIHost IP ranges...

they are going to court over it.. dont know when it will be fixed...

so if your on AOL.... mmm all I can say is you are SOL...

Good Day:

As you may be aware, C I Host has filed a lawsuit against America Online (AOL) for blocking IP addresses from C I Host's
shared hosting e-mail servers to AOL subscribers. Dedicated and Colocation servers were unaffected.

AOL has accused some of our customers of spamming AOL addresses and listed that as its reason for blocking our IP addresses.

As you know, C I Host vigorously combats the problem of spam. Our SpamCop filters blocked more than 16 million spam e-mails
last week alone. You're also aware that our Service Level Agreement (SLA) forbids our customers from spamming.

C I Host is dedicated to protecting your rights and will pursue this legal battle on your behalf until the end.

AOL has been blocking various C I Host IP addresses for about two weeks. We have tried to settle this dispute out of court,
but to no avail.

Since AOL refused to unblock the IP addresses, we pursued and received a temporary restraining order against AOL, forcing them to unblock the IP addresses.

Currently, AOL has removed all IP blocks and is allowing all customer email to pass through to AOL subscribers normally and assues us there will no longer block any of our IP addresses.

However, we still plan to continue to pursue this issue with the Texas Courts in September to keep them from ever taking such action against our customers again.

Rest assured that we are working diligently to insure that your business runs smoothly and that the service from C I Host continues to be second to none.

United States of America.

The land of freedom... and companies are free to send spams to everybody.

I heard about that some anti-spam softwares are also be sued because they're blocking the spams too.
If the companies are free to send spams, the anti-spams
should be free to block any spams too.

Strange contry...

Some anti-spam software companies are being sued by SPAM (the "meat") for giving spam a bad name. IMO, they didn't need anti-spam for that.

Two types? You all forget that we are the United *States*. That's 50 states, each with its own distinct culture, wildlife, climate, et cetera. The only thing keeping this country a nation is that we don't want to end up like Africa. Trust me, I know a LOT of Africans in the flesh.

Oh, well, then you bring the possible cultures and laws to the realms of infinity. Double-plus-infinity if you also consider the various "intelligence agencies" that are each vying for supremacy.

For instance, I work for two very ethical corporations: one, a restaurant that only serves hallal food (The Islamic version of kosher law), and the other a marketing and distribution company that never lies to its customers.

Neither is particularly profitable, and completely different cultures and laws pervade each.

BTW, I consider AOL to be a corporation of pig-[expletive deleted]s that exist only to bleed its customers dry without providing a superior or reliable service. In fact, they've been denying links to so many different sources that lately, I almost consider them on par with the new "Kid-friendly Internet" that disallows hyperlinking to outside sites. This is the same AOL who in the late 90's filth-filtered the word "breast" until breast cancer advocacy groups sued on the grounds that users could not find information about possible treatment options and support groups.

Stupid, stupid AOL.
