What a freakin nightmare. Download speeds have currently gone from about 70 kb/s to <= 10 kb/s.

My roomie got hit with this last night, along with about 5 other virii types.. 36 infections total...

Even after cleaning/quarantining the infected files, his computer spontaneously restarts itself... let me tell you it was rather grating hearing that annoying XP jingle every half an hour... ;D

He's so lazy he just reinstalls XP whenever he gets a problem or when XP doesn't work the way he wants it to... I've lived with him for 2 months and he's already gone through 3 reinstallations... at least he pays the rent...

I've been through it already as well... although it was rather painless here, Monday night my computer suddenly told me I had 60 seconds til it restarted, and that went on for while. But I downloaded the patch and the removal program, and now everything is back to normal ;D

mine stopped at the router/firewall.. and zonealarm pro wouldnt have let it through either.

you guys should install the free zonalarm (non pro) version.

my dad had a trial of zone alarm pro, but i dont think i could play games online with my friends when they tried connecting to me, and i couldnt direct connect and stuff on aim. if i could get rid of that i would tell my dad to download it.

Ad-aware isn't firewall, it removes adware and spyware from your hard drives and programs. They are two different things.
And sorry, I don't use ZoneAlarm myself, so I can't say how to exactly configure it... Under settings maybe? ;)

i know adaware isnt a firewall and my dad is most likely not getting zone alarm anyway.
