Printer installation

My kid brother has been able to de-install the printer. I downloaded the drivers again and started it, but the program wants to detect wether the printer is connected or not before installing the driver. The printer is connected, turned on, has a full inkt-cartridge and non-jammed paper, but the bloody driver says that it isn't connected. I turned off the pc, pulled out all the plugs, rebooted and put all the plugs back in place when things were loaded (it once worked with another USB-thingy), but that idiot of a driver still can't detect it.
Any ideas how to fix this?

Yes, try going to the Windows control panel and go to the Add/Remove Hardware panel. Try to have Windows detect the printer, as it probably no longer recognizes that it's there. I had a similar problem with my office's computers before, and this is how I fixed them.

That was easy. If only I were 10 years old again, I would've found that out by myself ::) Thanks Andrew.

He wasn't saying you were 10, ::)
He was saying that he would've found it easier if he was 10. Same here, actually. Exploring Windows is fun :-X

Yeah, around that time, I did some amazing things on maintaining pc's (I also got a pc so far that it didn't recognize its own HD, but let's not get into that :-X )
The things that looked natural are now the most farfetched solutions ever.
