Cursor's stuck

The arrow down-cursor of my old laptop is stuck. It keeps going down. It's hell to play games that way, let alone manouvre in Windows. To top it all off, my arrow up-cursor doesn't work at all anymore. Is there still something I can do about it?

That depends on how desperate you are. If it were a ThinkPad, I would just say buy a broken ThinkPad (with a functioning keyboard) off of e-bay or something and physically replace it. Otherwise, you could see if it's possible to *safely* remove individual keys and clean all of the contacts with dry Q-Tips, toothpicks, whatever, ,but no fluids. I get stuck keys all the time because I spilled too much Coca-Cola and cigarette ash between the keys. So stop smoking over your keyboard while programming, Raf.

I don't smoke and I don't program (only in AGI
)
Anyway, I fixed the down-key by breaking open the plastic surrounding it and by blowing under the keys. Lost a small piece of plastic on an unimportant place though.
The up-key is still stuck. I think I might've smashed the spring while hitting the key with the back of my pocketknife out of frustration (the down-key temporarily worked due to that ;D )

I've only got the keys of my laptop ripped out by cruely handling a book over the keyboard and on this occasion lifting keys with the books back. Gosh, that's been awful by cruel OS design and implementation ... hefty book mauling the keyboard, that's crap. It took me some swearing to re-add the keys to that darn keyboard.
Well... now they go even smoother than ever before. that's cool. Somewhat a hefty cruel book HAS to be good for.
yeah... Kon-Tiki, shame on you for mauling your laptop (that poor bum) out of rage. Damage is sometimes the revenge of things for putting violence on them. Thor Heyerdahl wouldn't even consider violence on his beloved ... boat?

Raft, not boat, but it hadn't a tiny little man on it that was constantly ducking and didn't want to walk on stairs. I bet Thor enraged himself now and then too. He was only a human, just like you and me.
Anyway, now the left-key's giving the same problems as the down-key, but I can't fix it in the same way. Up-key's still being an @$$ too.
I asked my little brother if he had a spare keyboard and plugged that in. It's confusing the bejeezes out of me and it's not so handy anymore, but now I can continue my... errrmm... work (when the exams are finished, that is)

Hahah, did you change from AZERTY to QWERTY?

Maybe his little brother gave him DVORAK keyboard... That's exactly what my little brother would do in such situation...

Nope, just an ordinary AZERTY keyboard, like what I'm used to. The thing that's so confusing, is that I have two keyboards in front of me(one on the laptop and one on my lap) and I have to use the mouse on my laptop. It's right under the keyboard. I tend to continue using that one then, until I notice that some keys are being a donkey.
