Hello,

I am writing on behalf of a group of student?s in Ryerson University fourth year Image Arts program. We are attempting to do a communications project about the Tokyo subway system. Unfortunately, however, none of us are currently able to take video footage of the subways. Hence this letter.

We are looking for footage of specific subways in the Tokyo area, as well as general footage from everyday life in the subways. We want to capture the beauty, feel, and presence of one of the most vital and busy mass transit systems on Earth. Additionally, we are also looking for footage from the March 20th, 1995 sarin gas attacks on the subways, since it plays an important part in illustrating the importance of the subways in everyday life.

We wish to know if somebody with a video camera, perhaps yourself or a friend, is in Japan, is going to Japan or will be in Japan. If you ride the subway, or have ridden the subway and taken pictures, we were hoping that you could take some footage for us for our project. We will be more than happy to reimburse you for the cost of tape and standard shipping.

We need both specific sites and general footage. Here is a listing of what we are looking for:

Shots of people on the trains as well as shots of people embarking and disembarking from them
Shots of the city and countryside from the trains as they pass by underneath.
Shots of subway stations, attendants, and the subway boarding process
General shots of subway life.

Specifically, we need shots from the lines stricken by the 1995 gas attacks:

Footage from the Naka Meguro and Kitasenju bound trains on the Hibiya line
Footage from the Ogikubo and Ikebukuro bound trains on the Marunouchi line
Shots from the Yoyoigi Uehara bound train on the Chiyoda subway line
Footage from the Kasumigaseki station and the surrounding area outside the station (the government buildings and such)
In addition, we are looking for as much news footage as possible from that day. Please contact us if you know where we may find some!

Please feel free to contact us at [email protected] or [email protected] if you are interested in participating or know of somebody who could provide resources for our project. We appreciate your time and assistance!

you can ask, but this site really has nothing to do with Tokyo as it is now. IT was named for a futuristic version.

I'll leave the post up, but I dont think you will have much luck,

He just thought since the website's name is mega-tokyo.com that it had something to do with the actual place tokyo in Japan.

When you think about it, Mega-Tokyo could mean something else.
