I was looking through some threads and noticed some of Patricks responces, now it wasn't what he said that got my attention it was his avatar.

I said "I'm sure that changes every time i see it".

So I pressed the refresh button...

"Hay it changed again. Must be coinsedene"

So I pressed the refresh button again...

...No supprise it had canged again. Whats going on Patrick? How are you doing this? I asesume your not changing it every 10 seconds. Are you?

You know something about random avatar scripts in PHP? ::)

Everyone knows how to do that (besides me and you).

I can't believe that someone doesn't know how do do that... It's so damn easy...

Let's give you some Board History.
Once upon a time, there was a young man named Chris. Chris had something others didn't have. His avatar changed randomly. One day, someone asked him:
"How do you do that?"
"I've got a random avatar script," Chris replied.
"How did you do that?"
"I wrote it in php and put the url of the script in my profile."
"Can you give me the code?"
Thus Chris posted the code and said that to make it work, one had to put his avatar pictures in a different folder. Others copied the script and put it on their webspace. They made a collection of pictures on that same webspace and made the script point to that folder.
Now Chris didn't have something others didn't have. A lot of people used his script and made their avatars change randomly. The magic of it all can still be found by he who searches. The source lies in the birth of the second general.

Hmm, interesting.. why don't we also think of a random-message script to change the message you're posting randomly . Or how about a random-reactivate-old-posts-script that would select a topic that is over a year old and post some nonesense to bring it back up ;D... and that randomly every day ::)...

But anyways, which things can users actually "randomize" on this board?

Yeah, I wrote the random avatar scripts people are using around here.

I posted the code in the programming board so just look in there for it.

Oh yeah, and I didn't mention this earlier... but my avatar script is different from everyone else's here. Mine allows me to set the allowed avatar extensions(jpg,gif,png,etc...), the groups of avatars to display, and even which avatar within those groups.

random megaman avatars

random agi avatars

random gundam avatars

random misc avatars

Plus I can narrow down which avatars I want specifically from a group and things like that. It is very advanced compared to my old script.

I have the newest script, Patrick(smartguy) has the second newest... and the rest of you have my oldest.
