dvd firmware patching

whooo. managed to patch my first DVD firmware tonight. now my notebook dvd/cdrw is region free RPC1 surprisingly easy once I knew what to look for.

my lg dvd player was a bit easier.. just had to input a code and I could set the region to whatever i wanted.

course.. it's always a bit trickier with the pc.. there's no remote to type the code in

i fukced up the first time, i thought it ran on an 8051 cpu.. and i'm looking at all this risc asm and its all over the place, cant make heads or tails...

then i learn its the wrong cpu, so its done by hitachi sh-8.. now it looks good and flows...

once i knew the code i was looking for, it was sooo easy...
