Quake 2 help please!!! (Even if you dont have quake 2, pleas

I installed Quake 2 a few days ago and the game played fine. now i uninstalled it cause my dad made me. now he said i can put it back on. i installed it, and then go into the quake2.exe or the shortcut in the start menu. it just sits there and does nothing. how can i get it to actually go into the program?

Have you tried getting into it by the direct filename? Just open the folder that you installed the game in and open the executable there. Did you do a proper uninstall or did you just delete the folder?

You sure your hardware configurations are correct? That's usually a symptom of when you've configured something wrong in the setup menu. Your father might have modified something while you removed it. That's what usually happens when I don't put in the right sound configuration. Never had a problem with q2 but other games I've had this problem though.

I think quake 2 automatically detects your hardware settings, so if you didn't uninstall properly like zonkie said that might be the problem.

i selected the uninstall in that folder, then deleted the folder. i installed it, nothing. so then i went into add/remove programs and uninstalled it from there and it still wont work. how can i configure the pc for the game to work?

i think its because this is an AMD. this is an AMD 400 mhz, and my pc is a pentium 133 mhz. and quake 2 works on my pc. i dont get it. this worked a few days ago.
