Server Question

you can login with SSH, transfer files with SCP
I got this in an email telling me how to access my new host. Now my main ? is what is SSH and SCP...and how do i access them????

Ok i got PuTTY....now what do i do...I logged in and changed my password...i have NO idea what to do or where to start!

Alrighty...i got the files to be uploded NOW...i started the YaBB SE Installation...i get about 600 error messages...i have no idea what my

MySQL Database prefix:
MySQL Database name:
MySQL password:
MySQL username:
MySQL server name:

is....so where do i get all this information?

Hey,

Do you use SourceForge? Because i use it, and i can't seem to figure out how to acess ssh from windows. So if anybody can offer some help, it would be appreciated ;D

He's lying :D because you can use ssh from PuTTY.

Yes you can use PuTTY...but unexperianced Dos/Luinx users should use iExploer....

It is an evaluation version...just find some keygen...

It works better than the JUST PuTTY for me....but that is up to you.

Hey,

Well, i didn't know i could use ssh in Windows, but i can YEAH!

I was gonna' install Linux to dual Boot just because of this, but now i'm not going to!

Where can i get Putty?

Well, mySQL is installed on the server ... if they installed it.

If it is not installed, you cannot use YaBBSE on that server.

What are you trying to setup YaBB SE on? Are you setting it up on SourceForge?

Hi,

I know that stuff has to be Open Source. But the only place i know that uses 'ssh' is SourceForge ;D

Actually, SF doesn't use SSH...SSH is only a way to acsess it.
