Many people have tried to take on Mircosoft but have failed with-out a chance. I intend to become one of those who has the chance to be incontrol and offer BILL GATES himself a job in my company.
THIS REQUIRES YOUR HELP! His OS is so ****, you must reinstall at least once a month and even more with the newer versions. Send infomation to the above address and say what you want in a future OS and it might come true.
HAVE ANY TALENT IN PROGRAMMING, and I'd love to hear it.
Dazz
PS. DIE MIRCOSOFT!

LOL Dazz.
The only reason I have to reinstall windows is when my computer got a virus.
And I don't need to update my windows when I'm programming Klik & play games and agi & sci games unless
SCI Studio requires the last version of directx.
I bought age of the empires from months ago.
I don't have interesting for using others os systems like Linux, Unix... and maybe you os.

Hating Microsoft and wanting to beat them is NOT a good reason to start your own company. It's good to talk about, but their hold on the market is so strong that the only way you're going to pull significant market share on them is to give your solution away.
Now if your OS idea is to make an OS that is a Windows clone and runs windows software (ala ReactOS) then you could stand a chance.

I have considerable talent, just not enough money and resources to try to do anything.
If I can help you in your quest to KILL Microsoft, I'd be glad to help. Very Glad to help.
Just e-mail me and ask me anything, and I'll try to answer your questions.

LOL, yeah right. And I'm Bill Gates himself...
I hate Windows as much as the next person, but I don't think your idea will work (to make your own company and blow MS away).
The best idea is to support BeOS. It's simply the best general purpose desktop OS there is. Too bad it was screwed by it's own company from lack of advertising. Maybe Palm can rejuvinate (sp?) it...
As for what I wanna see in an OS, I'd love to see anything that BeOS has (SMP, 64-bit journaled FS, awesome multimedia support, etc.)
Good luck man, if you succeed don't turn into MS...lol...

If you ever have to reinstall windows for any reason other than getting a really bad virus, then something is seriously wrong with your computer. If you do think you have to reinstall windows, the problem is much more likely to be a hardware incompatability than a problem with Windows. I had my old computer for THREE YEARS running Windows 95 and never reinstalled. Not even ONCE.

That is so wrong. I mean the part about that Windows always work. Win 3.1 and 95 did not know much but worked (see *), I agree to that... Then Micro$oft pushed more and more into the system... Believe me... Win 3.1 was the most stable of the all... Win 95 have messed up my hard drive so I can't fix it with Scandisk (it is not a hardwareproblem, it is the file system)...
Windows have to be reinstalled several times a year for better performance. The registry will contain more and more unnecessary information the longer you wait to reinstall. There will be more and more unnecessary files (temporary, ini-files, documentations) the longer you wait. And there are risk that the drivers get fragmented and/or damaged too...
* = it depends on what you are doing...

Windows 3.1 the most stable of all? You've gotta be kidding me.
I never said Windows "always works"...but there's a difference between not always working and needing to reinstall. Needing to reinstall your operating system means that something has happened that has made the os almost completely unusable.
If your driver files get damaged, you do not have to reinstall the entire operating system. Temporary files can be deleted (which is the reason for the Disk Cleanup utility in Windows 98).
About the only truly valid concern is that over time you will accumulate numerous unnecessary registry entries and dll files. These things might have some effect on performance, but they hardly render the os unusable.

OK, I'll give you the drivers getting fragmented, but there are plenty of regestry cleaner programs out there. I don't really want to get involved in this, but I just wanted to say that.

First, it is true that Windows 9x will degrade in preformance after awhile
. This is largely because of the FAT16/32 filesystem Windows uses. The FAT filesystem stores things like a tree:
C:-Windows-System
| |
| -System32
| |
| -dozens more folders
and files
-My Documents
Because of this if you have 100s of files in the Windows directory and the file you want is way down at the bottom of the tree, Windows will take awhile to find it. Of course, MS doesn't help this problem by dumping dozens of .txt and .bmp files into the Windows directory, if you clean out the .txt and .bmp files every now-and-then, and then defrag your drive even if Windows says you need to or not, you will often get a
HUGE speed improvement
. The other thing about the FAT filesystem is that it is very quickly fragmented. One way to slow this down is to set the swap file to a specified size, then turn OFF the swap file, defrag, and turn it back on(if you don't turn it off, Windows can't move it while defraging). One thing that I have found that
really slows down fragmentation is to have 3 partitions on my hard drive, the first for Windows and Windows
only, the second for my personal files and all the programs that don't come with Windows, and a third partition for my temp files and temporary internet files. To send my temp files to my third partition(E:) I simply put the following lines in my C:\autoexec.bat file:
set tmp=e:\temp
set temp=e:\temp
This greatly slows fragmentation since the temp files are a big fragmentation problem. Another thing that helps is to use Norton Utilities and have it move you folders to the front of your drive. The one other thing to do is to be sure and install Windows on a FAT16 partition(unless you have NT/2000/XP in which case put it on a NTFS partition). Why? Because FAT32 is just plain ssssslllllloooowwwwer.
These are just a few speedup tricks for more get:
Optimizing Windows for Games, Graphics and Multimedia by David L. Farquhar from O'Reilly(
http://www.oreilly.com).
Second, if you want to overthrow Microsoft, you will need plenty of money for advertising your OS. The other things that come to mind are:
1. a
stable OS
2. ability to run Windows software(check out
http://www.winehq.com)
2. ability to use Windows device drivers so that any hardware that works on Windows(especially "winmodems") will work on your OS
3. an installer that askes few questions, also allows options for "experts"(hard drive partitioning etc)

F*ck Microsoft
Windoze is the shitiest piece of **** there ever was and I'm stuck with it.
It's even funny how I instal windows and in the same night it screws up(all properties give the error message "ilegal operation")
TALKING ABOUT IT IS NOT GOOD BECAUSE IT DOESN'T HELP AT ALL(IT'S A WASTE OF TIME).
I'M IN
MY REQUIREMENTS ARE:
32-bit(64)
multitasking
all C++(some asm)
new file system(no fat32 crap)
Yes it will work and Linux is not good in my opinion(no offence)
Linux was written by too many people with too many different styles and all learning.
An os 3 times as fast as linux and 99999999999999 times as stable as windows and much more user friendly than both of them can be written.
COUNT ME IN

I hope you know that you are prety wrong about the file system. The FAT 32 file system is a patched(in a bad way) FAT16. Ant FAT 16 wasn't too good either. The **** with the the trees and taking longer to find the one on the bottom is bulshit.
Stil microsoft FUCKING SUCKS
If I actualy told you what a piece of **** the boot sector for windowsa 95 is. Someone disassembled it and it is typical Microsoft. Using 16 bit code and when it is imperative necessary to use 32 they use 32. It is ****. Bill Gates knows it.
I WONDER IF BILL GATES DOESN'T USE LINUX OR BeOS ON HIS HOME COMPIUTER. LOL

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT MAKING IT COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS. OS/2 WAS AND IT WAS A WAY BETTER OS AND IT DIDN'T WORK OUT.
JUST MAKE A BRAND NEW
PERFECT OS.
