Lithium Operating System Updates

Post by cheapskate01 »

Alright guys, Posting this At 12:01am on new years day. Happy 2016!

I started this forum to log my chronicles in OSDEV as I go through. I will be updating the status of my OS as I go thru. Constructive criticism only plz, You don't have to follow if you don't want to.

Anyways, Update 0.1:
I used the meaty skeleton as base for the project.
I implemented Gdt Idt and an ISR.
Thanks to Catnikita255, I have working high res vesa graphics with 32 bpp.
Off to a good start.

No working user interface yet, but it will come... eventually.

Thanks

Offtopic, but what version of Ubuntu are you using? It looks very nice.
You know your OS is advanced when you stop using the Intel programming guide as a reference.

Analysed by my histogram experimentware I'm guessing it's Ubuntu with a material-based or at least a limited-colours "plain" theme.
When you start writing an OS you do the minimum possible to get the x86 processor in a usable state, then you try to get as far away from it as possible.

Syntax checkup:
Wrong: OS's, IRQ's, zero'ing
Right: OSes, IRQs, zeroing

Its 14.04. I'm using Super Flat Icons and A combination theme: Numix for gtk2 and Iris Dark for gtk3. And this background ties it together:
