Hi there fellow developers,
I've developed a small utility to work with disk images under windows.
Here is the link to the installer
http://download.eqxer.com/vdisktoolex/V ... v0.1.0.exe

This is my first public release of anything, so, I'll be glad to clarify anything about it.
Please provide feedback.

Regards,
Trinopoty

Hi, would you care to describe your program and what features it offers? What disk image formats are supported? What license it is under? Also note, if you don't release the source code for your tool, you may be doing a disfavour to those that wish to become self-hosting as it would imply having the source code for all the tools involved.

This utility was created when I ran into heavy trouble while trying to do osdev under windows. I couldn't find any suitable utilities to work with disk images, so, I came up with my own utility.
As of version 0.1.0, only flat images and MBR partitioning is supported. Support for other formats is supported by plugins, but I'll not be releasing the SDK right now as the program may be highly unstable at the moment.
Also, modifying the partition table is not supported yet.
The program is currently under a non-commercial use license.

I don't wish to sound rude but I'm not about to put an .exe on my system, let alone activate it, unless I can verify its provenance. Without having the source, and a chance to compile it for myself, this is not possible.

Think social engineering.

Interestingly, an app with similar purposes by the same name has existed for some three years now... http://www.d-rift.nl/combuster/vdisk/

Well, I did not know about that before I started this project.
I think it's time some people get a mail from me.
