SO! This is my frist time in the retrochallenge. But I've entered my SPARCStation LX.

I've been posting a few things there were a few pretty cool projects going on. I'm at the end of the list at the moment. "Chase Rayfield" @ http://gh0stwriter.psunix.net

http://retrochallenge.org/ <- more stuff there :D I haven't read though all of them yet but it would be cool if someone wrote an OS for retro hardware :). Maybe some time I'll get it all figured out on SPARC.

In 3 years my laptop (2005) will be able to be used with this, and it's not some dinky PoS. It's not a modern gaming system, but I can do some reasonable 3D graphics work on it. I think they need to clarify what they mean by "retro" as right now the best they have is "In general..." which says to me "this is what we were thinking of," not "this is what it has to be."

Kind of like the "4 color mini painting" that doesn't count primer: All I'd have to do is prime white and use Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black. Technically follows the rules, but goes against the spirit of the competition, especially since all I need to get the color I want is open Photoshop and look at the CMYK values to get the mix I need.

Of course, I'm the kind of person that would push the definition of the rules only as a joke "you might want to revise them" entry and not as serious competition.
