General Protection Fault #GP

hi,
my os throwing General Protection Fault #GP, and it is causing double fault
i think problem is with IDT
so what could be the problem,and what is the #GP
please help
i have read the Intel 3a Manual but still not getting

  • Use a debugger.
  • Find out the instruction causing the #GP.
  • Examine the #GP error code.
  • Find out the reason for the #GP.
  • Check your IDT & kernel stack.
  • Find the reason for the #DF.
