Proper Choice of Ventilation

Today i had a look at the computer parts i had and noticed i have many 4 pin Molex connector fans. I figured i could cool my tower down alittle more by putting one in the back (e521 with modified case, air vents torward back).
In the back of my case i have a big vent, from the top of the power supply, down to the top of the video card (highest pci plate)
Would it be a good idea to put a fan in the middle of the vent (facing outward of the tower), and block off the rest of the vent (only way for air out being the fan) or leave it be?
My current temps are:
CPU 36C (e521 fan and cooling assembly pulling air from front of tower torward back of tower)
29C
GPU 62C (8600 gt, stock fan) I researched the normal temp, apparently thats a normal temp. Either way im buying parts for a new computer soon. It being my most favorite computer (lasted 6 years, no break downs, and it being a dell surprisingly) ive had no problems.
Note, the fan speed is 2200 rpm, 80mm.
