Accepting donations

Hello Everyone,

I have received an email asking if I would accept a donation to speed up development of the TCP/IP stack in BareMetal OS. With this money I could set up a "bounty" or something and pay a developer for assistance. If the offer is legit what service should I use to have them transfer the funds to the project (which in turn could be sent to a developer)? Paypal (If so I only have a personal account)?

Thanks,
-Ian

I haven't payed close attention to this but all the projects that accept donations that I can think of seem to use PayPal. As for legal issues, I am pretty much clueless but I assume it would depend on where you live.

If you wanted to to the job properly, you would have to set up a trust fund, so that it would take more than one signature to get your hands on the money. Depending upon how much money is involved, that may or may not be going over the top.
