Business Tutorials?

I remember when I started with OS Dev, I, like many others, learned through simple tutorials. I'd learn about OS theory and concepts in a bottom-up fashion. The whole point of the tutorials is to teach how the basic hardware mechanisms and resource managers work. They aren't intended to be used to make a successful & efficient OS. However, I could always add new features to the tutorial code to play with ideas.

I wonder if it would be possible to do the same for learning business. Perhaps business tutorials? One could learn business concepts in a hands-on sort of way. You could experiment with techniques and methods while adding on to stuff learned in tutorials...

The risk of using tutorials for business is too big. It's one thing to build a hobby OS and another to invest money when you are inexperienced.

There are actually business tutorials all over the web. I read articles posted on the Flying Solo website, which is an Australian micro-business community. I find some of them quite valuable, others are to be taken with a grain of salt (as all material on the Internet should be). I'm sure some of the articles there would be valuable to you, despite their Australia-centric focus. I'm also sure there are other similar websites for other countries.

The best advise anybody can possibly give you is to make contact with an accountant and/or a lawyer, preferably good ones. They'll help you stay on the right track. Actually, it's good advise for pretty much endeavour: seek professional advise.
