Recently I was using the debug tool on XP to look through a floppy disk and when I got to 9000:30e0h I found something quite interesting. Somebody's name was printed right at 9000:30e2h
. The name read Andy Watson. I've been googling this person with no significant results. I know this is a random question, but it really puzzled me.

Does this block belong to some file? Or have there been files on the floppy that were deleted (i.e. removed from the FAT - their data may still be present)? If this is the case, the origin of that file could give you a hint. I think this is the most reasonable.
If this is not the case: How did you obtain the floppy? How was it formatted? Maybe the developer of some formatting tool put his name an an easter egg into some unused sector.

This was a floppy image made by myself and formatted with XP in virtualbox

In regards to googling, my first hit was this forum, second try was the page berkus found.

Win2k was released in February 2000, and he certainly was with M$ before that. Keep digging, what about Win98?
Ghost in Chips? Weird...
