virtual PC lag

Post by VolTeK »

hey i have used vpc for a while and have gotten tire of the lag when i use a fat formatted virtual hard drive, it works fine when i first start the virtual machine up, but the next time i use it the start up is very slow, and the shutdown is slow also, why does this just happen to my fat formatted virtual hard drives, does it have something to do with my system or what could it be? thi isnt a big problem just a pain. i was just wondering if anyone has delt with this little problem and fixed it.

The only thing I can think of is fragmentation - FAT gets really fragmented really fast if the disk is mostly full. What are you running on VPC - just your OS, or Windows, or something else?
