Should we?

First of all, if you're interested in such an idea.. you could have proposed some things that could go in it.

Anything more then just.. "Should We.".

It might also be beneficial to spell the word "Magazine" right..

Special issue on PIC, its history, where it came from, everything to manipulate it, its future.
The future od opwerating systems, to be, or not to be network thingie.

the profits would go to the individuals who contributed to the issues of course. there would be an electronic edition, released a month later, for free. It would not be a "monthly" magazine, but an "evenement" magazine where each issue will be announced at slashdot, osnews, everywhere!!!!

No one will pay for an osdev mag. If anything, I think it would be PD and in simple ASCII text. Make everything simple.

Dr. Dobb's is pretty popular (it's at my school, which is saying something ).

And if you want to make a magazine, go ahead. But don't expect many to pay money, because most of us would prefer to not pay a thing. If we won't pay money to facilitate working on our OS, why should we pay for a magazine relating to osdev?

The magazine will be free on the internet. But it will cost money if you want it on paper ( which is perfectly normal, I am not intel pitching furiously manual to everyone out there).
The os dev magazine will be free on the internet, but it needs a site. Ascii magazine is agood idea.

I actually like the idea.
Of course it wouldn't profit, but still...

idk if I'd have time though...so...
but, no one will pay for an OS dev magazine, and I doubt still anyone will order it in paper(even if it was free)

A cool idea, but I think of a magazine as having the latest news in whatever the field the magazine covers (think Popular Science ). At least, I don't think you would be able to obtain enough content (new or old) for monthly releases. You could use a phrack-ish style - most people who do OSdev have access to the internet anyways

I can do page layout (I recently typeset a published book). If this gets off the ground, I would love to do this.

I would also be willing to do some articles. (If my time permits, that is.)
