As I said I support Windows and IE, but I don't support the company Microsoft.
Or how about we change it to LOVE MICROSOFT? and then in the thread it will have HATE MICROSOFT stuff. >:D

That is because both names point on picking on MS
How about we let this thread settle like it was before...

By the way, Perica:
You have absolutely no idea if saying that Linux isn't half of Windows. That's bullshit. Linux *is* getting more and more popular, that's a fact. Microsoft gets more and more nervous and probably, they will *have* to support Linux.
Own fault if you use KDE or Gnome, there are plenty of other window managers out there... .
I use Linux because it satisfies me totally...I don't wanna play games. It's stable and it's open, I know what it's doing...

[glow=RED,2,300]Why do all of you like/want hate, cruelty, or what ever you want to call it?[/glow]

Just like they supported DR-DOS and OS/2? Microsoft don't need to support Linux. If Linux wants Microsoft to even acknowledge it, it needs to become a threat to them -- and that means presenting the possibility of it replacing Windows (which DR-DOS tried with MS-DOS and OS/2 with Windows before).
abless claims that Linux is getting more and more popular, but he only sees a small portion of the computing world (the hax0rs part). Overall, Windows totally dwarfs Linux.

because of microsoft's monopoly on the software market for the home user, to create an operating system that competes with it, it must be entierly compadable, meaning it can run nearly all windows applications. People are lazy and dont want to learn how to use new applications, even if the software is significantly better.
I dont hate microsoft, all in all, well over a million jobs depend on the exists of microsoft. (every thing from programmers, to hardware developers, to companies that use microsoft products)
I strongly dislike there stand point on the software market. Heathy compeditors are always welcome.
In fact, all of the microsoft programmers have significant use with linux. (call up there teck support and ask)

Microsoft don't need to support Linux
Not totally right. Experts think Microsoft will offer part of their products for Linux, too - for example SQL Server.
May or may not be right - that's what some people say - anyway, the days when Microsoft called Linux a "cancer ulcer" are gone...
abless claims that Linux is getting more and more popular, but he only sees a small portion of the computing world (the hax0rs part). Overall, Windows totally dwarfs Linux.
Well, that's right... . I admit that other Operating Systems than Windows are probably not even known by Mister ABC, who just wants to check emails and write Word documents. But nevertheless, it *gets* more and more known. Microsoft is still the most known/used Operating System - but think of this: I used to use Windows, too. Now I don't do it anymore, but Linux. Other people feel like me...
Anyway, I don't mind if Windows is more known than Linux or whatever...fact is: I use Linux, basta. Mister ABC may use Windows, that doesn't interest me. I don't mind if you use Windows or Linux - why should I?
That's it, I don't want to start a philosophy thread
best regards,
A. Blessing

If i werent a peaceable sort, I'd whack him across the head with a stick. And I wouldn't stop whacking until his brains spread out across my clean hardwood floor.

It's amazing with all the potshots here, how politically correct this thread remains. This is a post that discriminates against Microsoft and anyone who could have benefited fiscally from it. It isn't supposed to be politically correct. This would be a good cue for Rich to squeeze in anytime soon...

Linux is an OS for users that enjoy programming games.
Microsoft is an OS for playing those games.
Mac is an OS for users that enjoy watching the computer play those games for them.
Honestly, Linux is a good stable OS for programming and such, but microsoft is better for game playing. They each have their pros and cons. Personally, my windows 98 machine would crash several times a day when I used it, but my win 2k pro machine has crashed only a couple times a week. But this is nothing compared with *nix machines, some of which, i have heard, have been up for eight years straight. Linux also has greater security, being open source, the bugs are found much quicker. Microsoft, however, has many security flaws, such as their windows messaging system between applications, or with thier password storage.

I believe that microsoft's mission statement is as follows: "Remember, security through obscurity is best, and if a customer asks, it is not a bug, it is a feature."

Steps to overthrow MicroSoft
1)Create a better OS.
2)Boycott MicroSoft products.
The true reason why MicroSoft is so big is because new computer users do not know that you can get a different OS on your computer. People also do not know that buying Windows adds about $150 to the computer that they are going to purchase. Put signs on stores to tell the Evils of MicroSoft.
