Re: Do you prefer desktop or laptop ?
I will prefer laptop over desktop. As laptops are highly portable and we can use them anywhere. LAptop takes very less room on a table as compared to desktops. LAptops have single cord to connect. They are not very messy as desktops

At the present moment, I'm on a laptop.
Simply because I not daft enough to lug my desktop to Starbucks.
It's a ThinkPad so it performs quite well, and I appreciate the TrackPoint in the center of the keyboard.
Much better than the track pad in my opinion.
So, for the most parts, I'm neutral. Each has its own environment in which it excels.
This being why I do not understand people who purchase laptops and never move them from their table top.
At home I run 2 desktops, my current dev machine being the more unusual of the two.
By more unusual I mean it's a decommissioned SPARC server running a T4 CPU.
Solaris has its moments.

Re: Do you prefer desktop or laptop ?
I prefer laptops and tablets simply because I can hold them close enough to my face to see what's on the screen. I'd half my screen resolution on my laptop, except Ubuntu can't seem to decide whether it wants to use the screen resolution I set or the largest available. (It switches back and forth every couple minutes, and I'm too lazy to find the problem).
Needless to say, a screen magnifier that follows the mouse will be one of the first things I write once a get a GUI.
