Ubuntu = 7
(I don't know Dreamlinux)

I'm using openSUSE 11.1 most of the time (KDE 3.5 with Compiz).

Darwin! Wait, that's Mach/BSD-instein, not Linux.

Probably Ubuntu, that's the only one I've really used.

Xubuntu is really cool, but i prefer openSUSE 11 because it is really sleek and fast

Ok
So here is the next vote
On a scale of 1 - 10 what would you vote The desktop KDE to The other one, i forgot sorry
But KDE Is the best over the other one thats what i can remember

By "The Other One" I'm guessing you mean Gnome. They each have their strengths/weaknesses. I agree that KDE looks really nice, but I find that Gnome provides a simpler and easier to use interface. KDE applications (Qt) also look good in Gnome, while Gnome applications (GTK) look like crap in KDE.

It depends what you need. I've had issues with VMware's Unity and VirtualBox's Seamless View when using KDE. Because I almost always run Linux in a VM, I tend to default to Gnome.

Gnome - 8
KDE4 - 7
KDE3 - 2

Hold the phone there! The other one? Something just doesn't seem right...
NickG wrote:P.S. I developed dreamlinux
You "developed" DreamLinux and yet you don't know the name of the other major desktop environment for linux? I find this development claim of yours to be rather dubious.
NickG wrote:Yea, i think my favorite linux would be pureOS
And not the distribution you developed?
NickG wrote:You guys have to try Dreamlinux
Why? Even you think some other distro is the best. Why should we listen to what some random d00d says if he doesn't even practice what he preaches?

Sorry man, there's a couple of things that just don't add up here.

Me too... I absolutely love Gentoo. Compiling everything from source takes some time, but perfect dependency generation, multi-architecture support, and compiler optimizations make it a worthy tradeoff. If you can handle the involved customization, it's just about the best Linux system you can get IMHO.

I was discoraged to use Gento by many people...
