Downtime

Post by chase »

The site was down for several hours yesterday. Someone in the datacenter pulled the wrong power plug by mistake. And even though the system has mirrored drives and uses a logging filesystem things still didn't come back up like they should have. I think I've go all the OSDev stuff restored, looks like we lost 1 message on the forums that wasn't fully committed. There might be some other downtime later as I try to recover some other no-related stuff on the server.

I saw it before someone posted there. I've gone through the tables and there doesn't seem to be any bad data. I'm starting to think it might just be a bug in the forum software. You can still see the problem because http://www.osdev.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=86012#86012 should take you to the last post of the first page. I found the code I need to read through, commented in the source as "This rather complex gaggle of code", and I'll read through it tonight.
