Because God loves us and wants us to enjoy the necessary task of eating. 
But seriously, I find that when I really like a certain food, it usually means I have a vitamin or mineral deficiency. There's something in cheese which helps brain function, and if you lack it, you'll crave cheese. I can't remember what it's called... Clearly, I need more cheese.
