Time and Date page inaccurate regarding Linux?

The Time and Date page, section Which Time, discusses whether the battery-backed clock should be treated as set to local time or UTC. It concludes with this statement:

The stupid thing to do is to force the clock to be only one way or the other, as both Linux and Windows do.

I recall Linux gaining an option to set which mode the clock is in many years ago, possibly as far back as 2001, perhaps even earlier. Before I fix the wiki page, can anyone say whether it still has the option?

Yes, Linux still supports setting the hardware clock to the local time zone.

Windows supports setting the hardware clock to UTC, too.

Both Windows and Linux have a way to change this. For Windows there is a registry key somewhere (sorry I don't remember the specifics).
