All off topic discussions go here. Everything from the funny thing your cat did to your favorite tv shows. Non-programming computer questions are ok too.
Just got finished removing the 300 infected files from my computer with AVG. There's been an outbreak of Kriz since it is getting close to Christmas. On December 25, the virus erases your BIOS, and then overwrites all the information on your hard disk.
If you have the file KRIZED.TT6 in your \windows\system directory, than you are probably infected.
That is the reason I don't download files unless from someone I know(or from a trusted site that I visit often) or read e-mails that don't relate to my work field(AGI, PHP, Message boards, etc).
Heh, at least this virus isn't as annoying as an e-mail virus... somebody that had my e-mail address got infected and I received tons of virus e-mails as well as errors from that virus trying to pretend to be me.
