how can i transfer files from windows file system to
linux file system ???

U can use Explore2fs software available at here. ;D

well , what exactly i want to do is to transfer a file from a
pc running on windows to another pc runing on linux using
a floppy disk. none of my computer has dual boot.
any tip, help in this regard.

Depending on the file type, Linux can open pretty much any Windows file. I know I can open up Doc files and PowerPoint. I do have some problems with this software (OpenOffice.org), but that's because my graphics card is unsupported under Linux, because it was built during the stone age.

As far as merely transferring files, Linux should have no problems sucking that data into it's guts. If you need an MS Windows fileshare on your computer, install Samba.

ok i am very much clear here about linux's capability

one more thing, what about windows, for exp if i
download a windows exe file while running linux as an
os to connect to internet then how can i transfer that
file to windows ?

Simply copying it from the Linux partition to the windows one works in Linux and preserves the EXE.
