I need help i don't know what to do about the trapdoor and i can't find any walkthroughs.

The trapdoor's bolted shut. You just need to remove the bolt and you can open it

Guard? I know of a butler, where you need to wear the pumpkin head and of the dog, which you need to distract with some meat.

If you're talking about the old man at the pond, these're hints to the toughest answers.

1) I assume you know this by heart by now, so no hint.
2) Try looking for C.S. Lewis' Narnia Tales.
3) The writer of Dracula's got the same initials as Billy Sponge.

The rest's just a matter of guessing (like I did back then)

hmmm if i remember correctly, you have to give the guard dude money or something. just try giving him different crap in your inventory. but either you give him gold or he gives you gold. i cant remember. ill check a walkthrough then reply.

yeah. you should have gotten gold in the room with the mummy. give that gold to the guard. oh and if you want the other 3 hugo games, go to www.dosgames.com then under adventure, and find the hugo games. they are wicked fun. although i couldnt beat hugo 2 with even a walkthrough.

I remember needing a walkthrough for Hugo 2 to find out that the hole in the wall was really a dumbwaiter (d'oh!). Course that was before I knew what a dumbwaiter was... lol
