New Guitar

I might be getting a new guitar for my 8th grade graduation. There is an Ibanez RG320DX and an Ibanez S370DX that are on sale. These guitars I believe are discontinued now, so these will be the last ones for sale. The RG320DX looks really cool. Has anyone had or played it and would reccommend it? It said that it has a 5 selector or something, but how can that be, because i think their are only 2 pickups. is there only 2 pickups? i havent gone to the store yet. i will be going this weekend though, but im the kinda person that likes to know things right away. ;D

hey i love the music they now play. and i was going to record me doing some leads (a solo) and post it on the board or on my site or something. i suck pretty bad at leads, but i made a cool solo from an e minor pentatonic scale (i think it was an e minor). i think im going to look at the guitar today though. so ill see if i like it.

and once i get a band here, i wanna play rock, hard rock, punk, and heavy metal. by punk i mean like really fast hard core punk, and ibanez guitars will give you that great rock sound with the 2 humbuckers.

5-way switch allows you to select either individual humbucker, both humbuckers, or single coils. If you do some brief research into any good guitar maintenance book, you'll find that through creative rewiring you can have any possible combination of pickups in or out of phase (out of phase and inverted coils provides for very interesting tones). So, really, a 5-way switch isn't that extrreme. BTW, most modern humbuckers are wired to be "split" into single coils. The sound out of a single coil "split" isn't as clean as a true single coil, but very few people will notice. So, when wiring and rewiring your pots and switches in the future, keep in mind thatyou may effectively possess "four" individual pickups.

hey i got the guitar today! i got the Ibanez RG320DX! my dad and i checked it out last night and played it there, and we just bought it today. holy **** does this guitar rock! i love it. its really cool. im very happy with it. thanks for the help everyone.

hey eero and oliver. i know you guys have a band and stuff. thats awesome! eero thats good your trying to save money. no i cant send you my old guitar ;D its a very old one that my dad gave to me. its a collectors item. and its worth a lot of money. anyway, guys, you will need an amp for an electric guitar (no ****), but thats gonna cost more money too. if i were you, get a used electric guitar, and used amp. just get everything used. and look online about the things you might buy just to see if other people liked them, to see if they are good. if you are gonna get into rock and stuff, get an ibanez! i love them! alright, good licks and good luck! (licks are parts of a solo)
