I've got eleven messages too at the moment, so I'd suggest 25 messages...

Wouldn't it be easier if the messages were limited and people started using e-mail? It's just as fast and you can keep them stored much more easily. There would still be IM's, but with a limited number of them in case there is something that can only/should be sent by PM. Or maybe something that there is an option for the users that their IM's are forwarded to their E-Mail or so (although I don't know if that would be possible)?

On some YABBSE boards, when you get a PM, then it will be forwarded to your e-mail account, but they still remain on the board, so I don't see what good it will do...

That would be so that you have that record of messages to reference back to later, but can delete them from the inbox without having to save them in a complicated way... Is the "notify by email" option in the preferences doing this?

Exactly, but this board doesn't support it... :-\
