Is compilerdev.org down?
Is compilerdev.org down?
Accessing http(s)://compilerdev.org returns an error. Is it a temporary issue or is it dead?

Re: Is compilerdev.org down?
Hi,
It seems to be down.
However, I don't know what was happening recently, I haven't been actively involved in compilerdev.org since I resigned from the forum administrator position. I decided it was too many sites for me to actually handle.
BTW, in case matt11235/mattcode is around, I'd like to again suggest reopening the wiki.
Regards,

Re: Is compilerdev.org down?
You could try accessing it with its more recent direct IP.
Add it to the hosts file. In this way, you can access the website by its domains and subdomains even if nobody has money to register the domain name.
You could ask the owners.
That's why I have my current IP in my signature, and why sites like woodmann.com always do put their IP in big letters. Then even if I run out of money, people will know how to access my website and it will be obvious that mine is the genuine website for my domain name. The hosts file is free so you could try.

Re: Is compilerdev.org down?
I sent this PM to Schol-R-LEA a couple of days ago:
I'm going to be moving soon so I don't have time to give the site the attention it deserves, but anybody is welcome to the domain and the forum database if they're planning on bringing the site back up. Just PM me here.matt11235 wrote:Hi, I don't really have the time/money/experience to keep compilerdev.org running properly, I wondered if you wanted me to transfer the domain to you?
It has ~4 months left before it needs renewing and it's registered with Namecheap, let me know if you want it

You must be joking if you think that people are going to do this. This isn't the 1970s.~ wrote:You could try accessing it with its more recent direct IP.

Re: Is compilerdev.org down?
I'm interested in bringing the website contents up. I sent you a private message. I could set up compilerdev.archefire.org if somebody else is interested in the domain name itself.

Thanks, I'll stop by to hack it once you've got it up and running.~ wrote:I'm interested in bringing the website contents up. I sent you a private message. I could set up compilerdev.archefire.org if somebody else is interested in the domain name itself.
When you start writing an OS you do the minimum possible to get the x86 processor in a usable state, then you try to get as far away from it as possible.
Syntax checkup:
Wrong: OS's, IRQ's, zero'ing
Right: OSes, IRQs, zeroing
