i was wondering if there was a .wav to .mid converter. this way i can record one of my songs on wav recored, transfer it to a .mid file, transfer that to an agi sound, and have it in my game. im not good at making music on the pc, so this would be a cool way of doing it.
letting me know if anyone knows of one will save me time. i would look, but im kinda busy right now. plus if theres not a thing, it would save me time.
does anyone know of a .wav to .mid converter?

They do exist. I know there is one out there that will allow you to convert 3 or 4 sounds to midi, and then the trial ends. Just google it.

Voice wont go on MIDI will it...I know how to go MIDI-->WAV but not the other way around....
Re:does anyone know of a .wav to .mid converter?
why not? notes are just a particular frequency. if the sample was simple enough.. it would just be a (not so simple) matter of converting frequencies to notes.

Nick is right, the melody has to be really simple. As far as I know they will only do one midi track. Since it is for AGI that shouldn't be a problem. It isn't really voice going to midi, your right smg, it is just the notes being read from the frequency of the voice. I know that there are several tools out there. The full version of XGWorks has it, not the demo though. I'm sure Joey can find one to do all of the conversions he needs for one game. If not then let me know and I will try to help.

Re:does anyone know of a .wav to .mid converter?
I had a look for them when I started with AGI because I still had a lot of sounds in the WAV format. I looked for good tools, but the only decent ones were demos and didn't allow more than a few seconds or didn't allow you to save the MIDI file. But if you don't have an amazingly clear voice an a very good microphone, they probably won't give you the expected results.
If you can write music, it is easier if you put the notes for the melody in a special program that can generate MIDI files from that, or you just use an AGI sound editor directly.

Re:does anyone know of a .wav to .mid converter?
so i would have to purchase a full version?
Re:does anyone know of a .wav to .mid converter?
You can see if you find a free version or a trial that is long enough to convert some songs. There should be some shareware on it as well, maybe I just didn't find it. If you do, please let me know . But then the quality might be bad again. Download some trial first maybe and see if the recordings would make good MIDI files or if they would ruin completely. You could use WIDI fromhttp://www.widisoft.com or Digital Ear fromhttp://www.digital-ear.com/ just to try it out, but I don't think any of them will let you save or make longer files.
