They have this secret cult where they initiate people by making them drink the blood of a goat. You probably wouldn't want to do that, though, so you're better off just being a member or a guest.

I was going to make this REALLY ::) funny joke about going to your admin section and selecting blah, blah, blah...but, I actually don't know how to make a mod in YaBB.... :-[

Hey Joey...wasn't that asking?

Besides, the mods tend to have a rather large pool of knowledge for us to leech off of. I think the way to become a mod is to just answer a lot of questions (accurately), be professional on the board, DON'T ASK, contribute to the community (AGI/SCI or OS DEV) and just generally be useful to other mods. I think all of the existing mods meet these requirements very easily.

Also try to remember that mods have to do the dirty work on boards. They have to set some peope straight, which can blow up in their face (look C16 and Brian), have to be aware what can and what doesn't can in the board, have some jerks pressing the 'report to mod'-button which'll spam you, got to answer lots of questions over and over, etc etc.
In short: you're much more free being a member than being a mod.

Well to be a mod, you have to think like Paul Martin. You have to constantly challenge the authority of the current moderators and after 12 years, if one steps down, you may step up to the mod squad(pun intended, sorry).
