All off topic discussions go here. Everything from the funny thing your cat did to your favorite tv shows. Non-programming computer questions are ok too.

That's not a guru. That's being erudite. A guru gives spiritual guidance, has some/lots of followers and isn't official. I think that's a main definition of a guru.
Well then I must be a guru... in this weird vast internet, I have coded php... and now some weird people think I am some sort of php guru and act as if they are fullfilled when I post a reply to their topic... I must say that the internet can be very strange... not only that but some people even consider me thier mentor and role model............... scary huh? ::)
Hmmmm, maybe I could get a contract... and maybe even act in the movie?............................. *uncomfortable silence here*.................... nah. :-\ ::)

i met a real guru/swarmi in london. he's one of the homeless guys...
i had a reaaaal bad hangover one day. real sick. there i was at 7am in covent garden eating a raw loaf of bread on some steps, throwing up and sitting with a bunch of homeless guys (all who drinking ale, larger and bitters at 7am and still going strong.....).. one bloke there was this indian guru guy.
he teaches one of the bhuddism sects, people invite him to their place and he'll stay a few days, teach them stuff and move on. he routinly travels around england (london, birmingham, manchester, newcastle).
interesting bloke. it was quite funny, as tourists and other people would come up and shake his hand etc, he apparently was quite well known...
