Locked thread

Post by Love4Boobies »

Why was this thread locked? Admitedly, it wasn't particularly interesting but I can't see any reason. Were some posts removed?

Yes, there was a post immediately after mine which appear to be missing.

I reported a combination of necromancy and indecent language use. I think it's obvious now where that went...

Yes - it was reported for a valid reason and the post was deleted. The thread was locked to prevent similarly unhelpful replies. Had the original question have been unanswered, or if the thread seemed to be going in a useful direction, I'd have left it open.

I had noticed that somebody seems to be pretty trigger happy, locking threads, just lately.

So, if someone asks the one question that's listed in the forum rules not to ask, what gives?

Summer started and every idiot is looking for something to kill time. Expect more nonsense and more moderation for a bit.

Hi,

If something breaks forum rules or is very likely to lead to flamefests (to quote a recent title "Is ASM or C Better"), I don't see a problem with locking it. Also if a completely OT response is made to a necro'd post (which has happened a lot recently). My criteria for locking threads are relatively fixed - it's more a case of how many posts meet those criteria in a given period.

The mods are obviously getting the right balance - looks like we're simultaneously doing not enough and too much at the moment. Can't help feeling that there's some Quantum explanation...

Cheers,
Adam
