C'mon gaiz, do better than that: I've got the champion of Osdev.org on my side...what's on your resume?

Oops, sorry. Missed the original question. 0x$0.60 for 3 suggestions on improving some explanations throughout the books, 0x$1.00 for a math issue regarding recurrence, and 0x$0.20 for a typo.Jezze wrote:Seriously though L4B, what did you get it for?

Are these real cheques that you can cash or just souvenirs?

Re: Knuth reward checks
Nowadays they're just souvenirs. Once upon a time, Knuth wrote out actual checks for $2.56 for people who found errors in his texts. Then he had some issues with check fraud and stopped writing real checks. It doesn't much matter, because even before that, the bragging-rights value of the checks was generally perceived to be greater than the monetary value. See my post upthread about intelligence and stupidity.MessiahAndrw wrote:Are these real cheques that you can cash or just souvenirs?

On his website he says that people can still ask for real money if they want to and that he'll find a way to send it other than checks---they are a security concern in many countries. It's all explained here.

Very cool, I've got volumes 1-4a just waiting for the next time I can squeeze in a little lite reading.
