I mostly listen to Thrash-, Power- and Progressive-Metal. Stuff like Nevermore (I'm sad Jeff Loomis and Van Williams left), Metallica, Pantera, Machine Head... But sometimes I like a bit of Rock, Guns n' Roses and stuff like that. Often I also listen to Apocalyptica (those Cello guys) and music from Jason Becker.
Recently I also discovered Symphony X, which is also Progressive Metal but very different from Nevermore.

Justin Bieber is EVIL, pure EVIL...Jezze wrote:I listen to pretty much only Justin Bieber and sometimes Britney Spears. I used to be a big Hanson fan but they cut their hair to short so now I don't like them anymore.
anyway, I DJ Hardcore and Hardstyle (see links in my signature), and soon i will do some dubstep (software crashes when i load a dubstep track to it >.<).
I listen to:
-Hardcore
-Hardstyle
-Dubstep
-Dubstyle
-RnB (stuff like club dance music, say, David Guetta)
-DnB
-Trance
-The occasional Green Day
I feel like the odd one out, i am only 15, I listen to totally different music, I love gaming, I like programming, I mix music....
I am an odd one out in this forum, yet my life at school is totally normal, puberty sucks...

Re: Musical tastes?
At the office I usually wear headphones to drown out distractions, but that's actually more like listening to "white noise" than actually listening. I've been using anything from remix.kwed.org over Harry Potter audio books to favourite-movie-DVDs-turned-MP3 for input, here.
When I am listening to music, things depend hugely on mood.
I like Filk music in general - songs hand-made, hand-played, and sung by people in the circle - like Julia Ecklar, Leslie Fish, Three Weird Sisters, Heather Alexander / Alexander James Adams, Amber, whatever.
I very much like Old German (or other medieval) material re-made, like InExtremo, or Poeta Magica.
Sometimes I tend to the "harder" stuff, like Man'o'War or Axxis.
There's also good music to be found on your average 80's sampler, and sometimes a gem or two in the "pop" section on radio, but generally I like digging up the stuff that is not "mainstream".
(And yes, if you perceive a trend towards the medieval / nordic heathen / fantasy genre, you're dead right.)

Every good solution is obvious once you've found it.
Re: Musical tastes?
The only music that I can listen to while programming without disrupting me is "New Age". Try it, it's really relaxing...
Re: Musical tastes?
Never heard of them before, listened to some of their songs on Youtube, didn't like them. The lyrics are nice, but from a musical standpoint they suck IMHO.berkus wrote:Some Falkoner then?Solar wrote:(And yes, if you perceive a trend towards the medieval / nordic heathen / fantasy genre, you're dead right.)
