All off topic discussions go here. Everything from the funny thing your cat did to your favorite tv shows. Non-programming computer questions are ok too.

I guess both getHomeSize() and getGardenSize() must be declared as long integers :D

BTW, 400 = 0x190 = Solar / 15...

I apparently have 2051 posts, I also apparently joined a day before Combuster.. and a month before Solar.

Clearly I'm not trolling often enough.

Let's keep it that way :)

This thread reminded me of the time Dex left the first--no, fourth time?

Dex left at least half a dozen times, and in the end was kicked out.

Never really knew why he was kicked, i got on to find a couple posts about it, but no evidence for reason. I never saw that he really posted anyway.

If you use search, i bet you could find 6 cases of Solar leaving.

Yes, he bragged about it on a different forum that I used to visit.

Since people keep asking about Dex:

He is a criminal and was banned for trying to crack this very server.

I've not seen solar out of this server for more than what a typical holiday would span. Let alone that he left in a Dex-like fashion.

Perhaps, you meant crack.
Or whatever. The only think that counts is that he is banned for obvious reason. He was a good programmer, by the way.
Programming is not about using a language to solve a problem, it's about using logic to find a solution !

You cannot say stuff like that, [-X from what you can find on other forums, he just pointed out some security flaws, in the forum.
Like, if you try to port scan the forum, your IP is banned, he then pointed out, that by spoofing all the mods IP's, you could ban the mods.
All he did was post all the mods IP's.

As for solar leaving example: http://forum.osdev.org/viewtopic.php?p=175594#p175594

Hah, Combuster and Solar both were bashed on that thread (where did you find that from?). And this thread is approaching nowhere. I suppose we're going off-topic here and it's more likely that we end up to a thread lock.

Correct, that was the day I dropped seeing OSDev as some kind of project to improve, or being somewhat responsible for. Since then, this is merely my preferred place in the web to hang around, unless I forget about my good resolutions, which I sometimes do, because I am human and not free from having a temper. Yet I believe I am still giving something of value to this community. More, at least, than posting a detailed how-to to every script kiddie around for rendering the forum inoperable because I didn't like how things went. Don't you think?
Every good solution is obvious once you've found it.
