So in August of this year, I entered the United States Navy's delayed entry program. I was originally enlisted as a GSM (Gas Turbine Systems Technician - Mechanical), but I've been attempting to get my contract changed to work as a Nuclear Propulsion Systems Technician. Today, I recieved a call from my recruiter that I was accepted into the program, and even better than that, I had one of the highest scores on the nuke qualifying exam in the Northeastern US region. I mean, just getting into the nuke program is hard enough (it's the top ~1% mentally in the Navy), but then being told that I was one of the highest qualifying people in my region of the US? I feel amazing.
I can't express how happy I feel and how proud I am of this. Now I just hope that I can keep excelling for the duration of my service in the military.
