50 facts and myths about Linux or why Linux has no future

All off topic discussions go here. Everything from the funny thing your cat did to your favorite tv shows. Non-programming computer questions are ok too.

Wow. I had no idea. Thats just quality work there.

Honestly, if you have nothing else to offer these forums why are you here? I'd vote for a ban, personally. Also, do you not realize that you are posting this boring nonsense (yes, boring: I opened the page and read a little before closing it thinking, "this isn't worth my time") on a forum of intelligent individuals? That means that we either already know any facts you may present, making your post superfluous, or we will see through/not believe any non-factual information you may present, or we will be able to tell when your points are opinionated (as most of them are). The little I did read shows a lack of experience and basic laziness to learn how to do things properly.

Also, why do you care? Really, if someone else uses linux, why do you spend time trying to convince them not to? It makes you look idiotic, really. So what if some things on that site are true, what would your recommendation for an OS be?

Whoa, I beg to differ there.

I ranted about that before. I could elaborate, but that would be OT and probably be considered flamebait in itself.
Every good solution is obvious once you've found it.

I'm dealing with it. The banhammer is being removed from its case, but in the meantime I thought it might be beneficial for the OP to recieve your comments full on in the face and not be artificially shielded from them by a post lock.

Wow. I say this as a long-time Windows user, Windows sysadmin, and someone who generally dislikes Linux and goes out of my way to avoid it when and if I can (outside of virtual machines I play with Linux distros on to learn): You (OP) are nothing more than a troll.

Yes, Linux might have its disadvantages. And sure, there's a vocal (very vocal) minority of people who evangelize it and crucify people who don't as "lusers" or what have you. But all-in-all, Linux is a very polished operating system nowadays. Take a look at the latest Ubuntu distrobution if you don't believe me. Casual users can use Linux now, and for a great majority of them, It Just Works. You know - that thing that is the #1 driving force behind good software? The Linux community has really moved away from being a bunch of RTFM'ers and is much more open to newbies who are trying to understand the operating system as a whole, and quite frankly, using Linux is much more enjoyable and easy than it was 10 years ago.

Your 'list' is nothing more than a bunch of propaganda and untruths about an operating system you just happen not to like. That's not fair, and it's not right, to be spreading that around as truth.
