URLs in new window?

Post by pcmattman »

On the previous forum software (I know it's been a long while since we moved) when you clicked a URL in a thread it'd open in a new window/tab.

Is it possible to return to this behaviour? I can just CTRL-click, but it'd be nice not to have to.

Most browsers should allow you to middle-click to open in a new tab.

The advantage of having them default to opening in this window is that its trivial to override - while opening in a new window tends not to offer convenient options.

I see your point, and it's a good one, but I visit this site regularly from mobile devices where it's significantly harder to open a page in a new window.

Perhaps a per-user option exists somewhere that can give everyone their preference? Not sure if phpBB offers such a thing.

My Firefox does it for me - get Tab Mix Plus. Besides, phpBB is designed for a desktop browser, and not as a mobile site. A new template may offer a solution in that regard.
