Selling my server/workstation!

Post by 01000101 »

Hey all, I just posted my server on eBay! This was my primary development machine but I now want a change of pace (i7 machine). I'll also be selling my smaller rackmount server and AS/400 later on (let me know if any of you are interest ahead of time for an OSDever discount or something lol).

Server is on auction HERE.

eBay was pretty easy to sell stuff with (first time selling really), much easier than I thought it would be.

Nice machine and good price. Shame I don't currently have $750 or have a need for such a machine.

Also, something sounds backwards about 2 video cards in a server ;)

Haha! :)

Yeah, one video "card" is integrated, the other is PCI. The server doesn't have PCIe-16 slots so I doubt gaming would be possible unless a 1x-8x (iirc) was used. I was able to run SimCity 3000 on it just fine though ;)

I finally got around to putting up my other server on eBay. It can be found HERE. It's a rackmount server that's a bit more affordable as it only has 1 quad-core instead of 2 and only 1GB of RAM.

I already ordered a video card and motherboard for my new i7 system I'll be building lol.

oh wait. I read "server" and not "server/workstation" lol. Yea, for a server it's a bit backwards.. but for workstation... yea. lol

Well, my main server sold for 750+30(shipping). I've already ordered the new build's CPU and RAM.

So far I've got:
MOBO - ASUS P7P55D-E Pro (LGA1156, USB3.0, SATA3)
CPU - Intel Core i7 860 (2.8GHz, quad-core w/ HT)
RAM - OCZ 4GB (2x2) 1600MHz DDR3 w/ XMP
GFX - EVGA GeForce GTS 250 (1GB DDR3, 256-bit)

I'll probably be ordering 3-4 80GB SATA2 drives soon and RAID them.
