GSoC

Post by Grunt »

Anyone around willing to participate in Google's Summer of Code?

There a handful of open-source operating systems needing help. Dragonfly BSD, Haiku, HelenOS, and of course Linux may have already applied (the accepted list should appear on the 18th this month). It's a good opportunity to learn more, do some coding, and earn some money.

EDIT: not tomorrow, but the 18th. Tomorrow is the deadline for applications. My bad. :)

Both FreeBSD and NetBSD have participated since 2005, and NetBSD has announced that it will apply again this year, haven't heard about FreeBSD, but I don't see any reason against it.

Just to mention it... It's not an OS, but emulators are definitely related and we all use them. So some people here might be interested in participating in one of the projects qemu is going to mentor: http://wiki.qemu.org/Google_Summer_of_Code_2010
