Well, there are two
damn huge wildfires going on right now, both consuming over 300 hectares (or about 740 acres) of land, 9 homes, and forcing over ten thousand people to flee the Kelowna area (in a disorderly manner, of course.) I have only three words: Ye flipping gods.
One person on the phone from Kelowna to the Global BC news stated that the fires were "literally up against the water and roads." People are almost panicking to get out. Phone and power lines are down, and people have lost contact with friends and family. The major connectors and highways have been
closed off.
I'm glad I'm living in Vancouver right now. This whole thing is taking up multiple hours on the news of almost a dozen channels. The fires look really cool in HDTV though
