Broken tools

Hey, I haven't been around here much for some time...
Well I haven't had much time for coding, but now that I've got massive exams comming and only small breaks the best things to do is probably to do a combination of enjoyable intelectual activities (i.e. programming) and sport during any short break I might have...
So now that I've nearly finished my physics coursework, I thought I might start up the old OS for the first time in about 6 months...
But as I try to compile, assemble and link my OS I get a mass of mistakes, all my tools are broken beyond repair and I have to rebuild everything, weird how that happens eh?
Well kind of a random non angry rant, but hey...
Also was just wondering I recently changed the course I wanted to do at university to natural computing (as a masters after a Bachelors in computer science...), was wondering if anybody had done this course, had anything to say about it or had any recomended readin ideas...
Well it's nice to be back...

Oh and just to say, what made me change my mind, is I was forced to go to a lecture entitled 'Biology's lessons to tommorows technologies', by my school (was randomly selected because no one signed up, though my girlfriend was also randomly selected so wasn't to depressing...), I thought it was going to be boring until I realised the guy making it was a professor from some obscure branch of computer science (natural computing) at which point I was a bit more interested (as I thought i was mainly going to be a lecture about biology), then I saw the 'big dog' video and as I saw it strugling to pick itself up, it looked so alive I almost felt sorry for it and I had an epifany, it was like I was put on this earth to do this... One small lecture has really completly changed my life plans.. weird, what if my name hadn't been randomly selected to go? Life plays weird tricks on us eh?
Well again kind of random...

edit: PS: You HAVE TO go and see the big dog video, it's easy to find if you google it..., it's truely life changing (well at least for me it was, the other members of my group weren't quite as enthuthiastic...)

Ok I've finished rebuilding all my tools, but AH, horror or horrors, all I have is an antiquated version of my OS that doesn't have FS support and the 'current' version of my OS was on my laptop that broke a few months ago..., better get a new charger for it soon...

That big dog thing is rather creepy. I would not have imagined that that sort of 'walking' would be possible with today's tech.

Yah it's insane, I was so disturbed, it looked alive, for me the moment where it's trying to get up when it's slipping all over the place on the ice and trying to get up, was so ammasing because it looked to alive that I almost felt empathy for it....
That single moment for me was life changing...

A couple of years ago I saw a TV documentary about an experimental robot, hopping on one leg (pogostick like), which was able to withstand a shove from the side, and was steered by a weight in the head RC'ed off-center (robot tips forward, leg mechanism compensates, forward movement is achieved). So I am not too surprised by that vid, it's basically the same technique.
