Impressions on everyone here

All off topic discussions go here. Everything from the funny thing your cat did to your favorite tv shows. Non-programming computer questions are ok too.

For my impressions

Pype.Clicker - Best all round knowledge and best mod ever

Brendan - The person i would trust most to come up with the right answer to a OS Dev ?.

01000101 - The network king and the person who has taken his OS to the next stage.

Solar - Person i most respect as a fair mod person and a expert on amiga OS.

bontanu - The person who's taken there hobby OS the furthest.

PS. As a OS Dev site should this not be who's OS we think is best ?.

Alboin & piranha: these guys always always seem to post together on all posts I've seen  I couldn't figure out much about their knowledge but they seem to know Linux's ways
Lol, fits that we have similar avatars...
PS. As a OS Dev site should this not be who's OS we think is best ?.
No, because we've all been developing thm different amounts of time, and with varying speeds.

@Combuster: I do try to be around. On weekends I refresh the OSDev forum page every five minutes for 12 hours. Thankyou for having me register on your radar though, I'm honoured.

Also, is there anybody who doesn't think Brendan is God (or just plain awesome, if the role of God is already taken)?

There are too many people I look up to on this forum to name them all. Brendan, Solar, (Com)buster, 01000101 and JamesM are definitely people who if I met in real life, a few beers would definitely be on the cards for them.

You can meet me at Breakpoint 2009. I drink Köstritzer for preference. 8)

Wow... I must say, I'm pretty much overwhelmed by what you guys said about me. Yes, I'm sorry I'm no longer around that much. Then again, that's mostly because a) I've got a much more involved and interesting job now (no longer spending an hour of office time on the 'web...), and b) I've got my own house and (big) garden to attend to now, so I'm not sulking about it. Otherwise I'd still be hanging out with you guys, as I still think this is the best corner of the 'net to be.

Most of what I'd have to say about the netizens here has already been said. I miss Pype, and Candy isn't around that much anymore either. Those two have been very involved in my own OS project, a time that taught me much, so I hold those two in special regard. Brendan, of course, is the burning thorne bush of osdev.org, no doubts about that. Dex, thanks for the respect. We had our run-ins in the beginning, but I think you have come a long way since your first appearance, and I always respect that. (And I hope I cooled down a bit since then...)

All the others... I have to beg your pardon, but for many months now my posting here has been pretty much hit & run, with little time to even check who's been posting what. So I won't comment on you individually, as I'd probably do you injustice. But all told, you make this forum a "place to be", so I bow to you all. Trolls and spammers excluded, of course.

I do, as I'm an atheist. But he's ok, and seems quite knowledgeable.

Hear hear! I've been to Breakpoint for the last few years, together with the guy I'm developing our OS with. In fact, the idea to start making one was made at Breakpoint, I think 2006. Dunno yet whether I'll attend 2009, but if so, I'll see if I can locate you :).

Traditionally, we're seated on the left from the main entrance (opposite from the beergarden exit), 4th row from the bigscreen (or was it the 5th?), first two tables from the passage, with our backs to the bigscreen. The ones with the laptops and the Köstritzer box nearby. ;-) The place sucks, but we've always sat there since the first Breakpoint, so we won't break the tradition. ;-)

The coming-out for Pro-POS was at the last Mekka & Symposium, 2002... ah, time is fleeting, madness took control...

Solar - A very good person who understand others feelings. Listen to others and help them to understand the things.
That's all come into my mind. :(

That was a very pointless and childish post.

Anyways, I wish I knew some more people around here that went to conventions. =(
I'm only going to 1-2 this year (ArisiaCon in Boston, and *maybe* DefCon). I agree though, there are a few people here that I'd definitely like to hang out with.

Maybe we should have an e-convention using video chat and (if needed, design) some sort of LAN that communicates over the net. Idea attached, icons courtesy of the 16-colour crappiness screenied from Windows 95.

Text is incredibly sufficient. Besides, 'hanging out' must really be done in person.

I'll self-host a small IRC server if anyone is interested.
