madness of OS Development

All off topic discussions go here. Everything from the funny thing your cat did to your favorite tv shows. Non-programming computer questions are ok too.

well, what to say, to much to do in too little space.
when it goes up hill, increase work, when it goes straight, test yourself but when going down, slow down.

Beginner_Mistakes - look at the part on community projects.

This has been tried many times before. Why is this project special, and why does it deserve to succeed? More detail please.

Edit: Also, try using a spell check. Looking intelligent usually provokes intelligent discussion.

yea i know that "problem"
but one thing to be sure about
it can be done, if ( also said later on ) with the right organisation
if you always "stay" grey because " it might never end good" you will never know. but see it this way, trying gives you some new ideers. but we need one thing,
to spereate people who:
would not
can not
dont belive

this would probley throw so many "possibilities" away, that it is only a few people.
Then there is one last problem:
it can only be people how have some sort of a "knowledge", or else it can not end good.

the above things is what maked me post this; i belive that it is possible

as a last thing:
the best ideers comes from the most stupidst ( sounds ridiculous, but about 20 years back, "computer" was just a "ridiculous" ideer.[of cause i know it is not the same!]... )

and about spelling, it will take me too long time to chek every word ( and a spell checker is just annoring me,.. ), and i dont got the biggest spelling problem.( and sometime i also chek my spelling, when i know it is Totaly wrong)

project:
the only reasons why we shuld make a os together, would be because of a few things, but nor they are good:
the fun ; hard to explaine, but it is just more fun to do things together with people, than alone.
the knowledge ; you can never learn too much
new ideers comes up.
friendships ; working together with other people create some sort of a friendship.
"more to be add on"

Bad idea I think. For example I dislike POSIX, programming in C, making anything posix-style, long command lines or compiling linux distros. And somebody dislikes DOS, programming in assembly, using conservativity instead of modularity, singletasking and hybrid-monolithic kernels... (*cough*) People are different.

I've observed that most people on this board want to develop their own OS because they want to do things differently or they want to learn how OS development is done. Of course, the or is non-exclusive.

If you want to join an OS community that works together for a common goal, look into Linux, one of the BSDs, or Haiku. You'll find a lot of things that you are proposing there.
